Training Workshop for Community Media members of the Green Alert Network (GAN) on Sustainable Development Goals (SDDs) and Environmental Reporting

The Center for Communication and Sustainable Development for All (CECOSDA), with the support of UNESCO's Programme for the Development of Communication (IPDC), will organize a two-day training workshop on Sustainable Development Goals (SDDs) and Environmental Reporting for community journalists who are members of the Green Alert Network (GAN). This event aims to provide community journalists with knowledge and expertise on sustainability issues so as to enhance their efforts in sensitizing and informing policy makers on sustainable development issues in their communities in Cameroon. The activity will focus on the challenges journalists face in their efforts to communicate on sustainable development matters in villages.

Following the training, community journalists and rural media from the ten regions of the country will be able to communicate and sensitize on issues such as climate change, depletion of resources, biodiversity and extinction, sustainable urbanization and pollution, waste management, and environmental protection in general. Thus, rural media will be able to write online articles, produce relevant radio programs for environmental education, and most importantly, they will be able to organize educational talks and community activities while taking into account gender aspects and the role of women in achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs).
