The Centre for Communication and Sustainable development for all (CECOSDA) will take part in the 2016 world conservation congress organized by the International Union Conservation for Nature (IUCN) from the 1st to 10th September.
Barely few weeks from now, the 2016 World Conservation Congress organized by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) will be held at the Hawaii Convention Center, situated in central Honolulu’s Waikiki district in the United States of America under the theme “Planet at the Crossroads”.
Held once every four years, the IUCN World Conservation Congress brings together thousands of leaders and decision-makers from governments, the civil society, indigenous peoples, the business world as well as University dons. The goal of such gathering is to ameliorate measures related to environmental protection and to harness solutions that nature offers to humans to face global challenges.
The Congress aims at improving the management of the natural environment so as to achieve a human, social and economic development. The event will bring together a general public which activities will be centered on debates, workshops, dialogues, round-table discussions, training courses, music and exhibitions. Furthermore, a Members' Assembly will deliberate on IUCN resolutions and recommendations regarding key conservation issues.
Thanks to her unique profile, the Centre for Communication and sustainable Development (CECOSDA), through an invitation from the IUCN will be represented at the Congress by a one man dedication in charge of carrying out diverse activities. To this effect, the Centre will actively take part in the forum with the presentation of its E poster and showing how important it is, attending targeted interest forum on the one hand. On the other hand, CECOSDA will participate in the General Assembly where new committee member will be elected and some motions voted.
Moreover, the participation of CECOSDA to this event will constitute a pillar where skills will be built and scope of understanding broadens on strategies for conserving the planet and for environmental sustainability.
